A PERSONAL NOTE

Ms. Henderson lives in Ripon, California. When she is not busy lawyering, you can find her on the golf course or entertaining her family and friends. Have you been to a Henderson party? Legendary! She is married to the love of her life, Thomas Henderson, and is the proud mother of their daughters, Adriana and Aniston.  Ms. Henderson’s secret talent is baking.

Stacy L. Henderson has gained a reputation as an outstanding attorney, specializing in the areas of employment and labor law and civil litigation.  Ms. Henderson has been named as a Northern California Super Lawyers Magazine as a Super Lawyer (2021 – 2024), Top Attorney in Northern California and a Rising Star (2016 – 2018).

Ms. Henderson is proud to represent a diverse group of clients throughout California.  She provides her clients with sensible advice and reasonable solutions for the full range of legal issues affecting their day-to-day operations. 

In her employment and labor law practice, Ms. Henderson counsels her clients on all aspects of the employment relationship.  She has extensive experience drafting effective employee handbooks to include policies and procedures that promote a cooperative, efficient and safe working environment, and she provides her clients with practical advice and valuable tools for implementing and enforcing the policies.  Ms. Henderson also guides her clients through the on-boarding, review, disciplinary and termination processes, and performs interactive and entertaining training seminars on a variety of topics including effective enforcement of policies by management and the prevention of harassment, discrimination, bullying and retaliation.  Ms. Henderson ensures that her clients have a solid understanding of how to remain compliant with California and Federal laws governing their operations including, among others, wage and hour, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and the California Family Rights Act.  In the unfortunate event of a lawsuit, Ms. Henderson is a vigorous advocate for her clients.  

As a litigator, Ms. Henderson guides her clients through cases in State and Federal courts throughout California involving a wide range of legal issues including:  wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation and breach of contract.  She has successfully defended and settled numerous class action and PAGA lawsuits on behalf of her clients.  Ms. Henderson works diligently to reach the result in each case that meets her client’s needs, whether through her first-hand negotiation of a settlement, mediation, arbitration or trial. 

In addition, Ms. Henderson is well versed in negotiating and drafting contracts and assisting clients in resolving business disputes.

ADMISSIONS

Ms. Henderson is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Joaquin County Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in the State of California and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District and Northern District of California.

EDUCATION

Ms. Henderson received her Juris Doctorate, with Distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2002 and was named a member of the Order of the Coif.  She was also given the Honors at Entrance designation and the McGeorge Scholar Award upon acceptance to McGeorge.  Each year, she was placed on the McGeorge Dean’s Honor List.  Ms. Henderson’s additional law school honors include being appointed Teaching Assistant for Torts and being named a member of the prestigious Roger J. Traynor Honor Society.  She was also the recipient of Verne Adrian and Annabel McGeorge Academic Achievement Scholarship and the Emil Gumpert Trial Advocacy Award.

Prior to law school, Ms. Henderson attended California State University, Fresno, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Criminology in 1999, Magna Cum Laude, after only three years.

AFFILIATIONS

Ms. Henderson is a graduate of the Leadership Stockton Class of 2009.  She has also shown her dedication to the community by previously volunteering as a member of the Board of Directors Greater Stockton Employer Advisory Counsel, as well as the United Way of San Joaquin County and the Lambda Theta Phi organization, both of whom raise funds and provide hands-on assistance to various charitable organizations within San Joaquin County.  She is a Delta Gamma alumna and previously served as the Advisory Team Chairman for the Delta Gamma chapter at University of the Pacific.
